Price £15 Web Page Tutorial: This tutorial is designed to teach the pupil the basics of web page design in the standard code of HTML. There are a constantly growing number of "build your own web page" type software packages available, but they do have drawbacks. The least of which is their flexibility. A web page written in one of these so-called "easy" packages invariably means that masses of unnecessary code is generated, making the page in excess of 1megabyte in size. In contrast a similar page written in "bare bones" HTML can be reduced to as little as 50 kilobytes, approximately 1/20th the size. What does this mean? If you have ever downloaded a file from the web, you will know how long it takes for a file around 1megabyte to download in comparison to a 50kilobyte-sized file. Web pages are exactly the same. The smaller they are, the faster they download, and with a survey estimate of web surfers attention span of 20 seconds per page, if your page isn't on the screen in less than that period of time, then no one is going to see your page ever. What the course covers: · Fonts….Changing a font type, size, colour etc. · Images….How to insert an image (jpg or gif) onto a web page, resize it, and put it in a frame. · Positioning….How to align your fonts and images (left, right, centre) · Background….How to change the background colour, and insert a background image. · Linking….How to link one page to another. From this point, depending on your ability and or requirements, I will guide you along to design your own web page, and teach you a few tricks that make building your page easy, and fun. Price £15 New User: If you are a first time buyer, (or know a first time buyer) and you need help or would like someone to put your new system together for you, this can be done for as little as £10. Servicing: Over time, during normal use, all computer systems noticeably slow down in operation. Why this is, can be explained as either a Software problem, a Hardware problem or more likely a combination of both. The Services listed below are designed to rejuvenate your system as much as is possible. How much and what software you use on your System, will determine just how much speed can be recovered and no mater what anyone says, unless you completely wipe your Hard Drive and install Windows from scratch, your system will never be "AS NEW", But the services listed below will improve your system speed and stability, thus increasing your systems usable life. Software: South Yorkshire PC Repairs As Software is Installed on your computer, small pieces of code are scattered around your Operating System to enable that Software to function correctly. When you Un-Install that same Software, there are often small parts of useless code left behind. This residue not only uses up valuable disk space, but slows the system operation.. This service is designed to root out these malignant pieces of code and remove them, thus allowing Windows to breathe freely once more. As a guideline, on a 1000Mhz Processor this service can usually be completed inside 2 hours. Can be completed in your own home or, if you prefer, can be carried out in the workshop. If the service is completed in your own home and you have Internet connection £20 If the service is completed in your own home and you do not have Internet connection £30 If the service is completed in the workshop £30 Hardware: South Yorkshire PC Repairs In my opinion, a complete hardware service such as the one listed below should be carried out at least once a year. If there is one thing that can kill your system Hardware DEAD, it is overheating. Most Processors these days can withstand temperatures of up to 80 degrees Celsius, but as it approaches this temperature you will noticeably experience your system slowing because of a basic electrical principal called "temperature resistance". System Overheat can be caused by a number of things, least of all dust. As air is sucked into your System Case to cool the Processor and the many other sensitive components, dust, hairs, and all kinds of rubbish comes with it and if any of the vents become blocked or the fan slows due to lack of lubrication, then your system is at risk. The Hardware Service includes the following: · Clean dust and grime from inside system case. · Lubricate all system fans. · Clean all air vents. It is recommended that this service is carried out at least once a year. Can be completed in your own home inside half an hour. The problem is, finding the time to do it. You may have an idea how you would like your web page or site to look etc, but don't have the skills, or desire to attain the skills to enable you to put your idea out there. What I offer you is the opportunity, with my help, to bring your dreams and designs to the web. All you have to do is have an idea, make a drawing, provide me with any text and pictures or animations you want on your page, and I will endeavour to make your page a reality. My basic fees are modest to say the least. For a basic "Home Page": £50 Please Note: This is a BASIC price.
